More than 100 people attended CAPCA’s Founder’s Day/50th Anniversary of Peace Corps Dinner on Oct. 22 at Galleria Marchetti in Chicago. Twenty RPCVs from the 1960s were recognized (see photo). Keynote speakers included Michael McCaskey, chairman of the Chicago Bears and RPCV Ethiopia 65-57, and Barbara Janes, one of the first volunteers in Pakistan in 1961 and an adjunct professor at Illinois Institute of Technology. Chicago Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd Ward), who served in Kenya, was the master of ceremonies. CAPCA would like to thank everyone who attended and supported CAPCA!! We look forward to celebrating PC’s 50th Anniversary with a variety of events in the coming year!
