DETAILS:
Thailand was one of the first countries to receive Peace Corps Volunteers, the first of whom arrived in 1962. Since then, more than 7,000 Americans have served as Peace Corps Volunteers in Thailand. To celebrate this history, join us for this month’s 50th Anniversary Thailand themed dinner.
At the dinner, we will listen to presentations from both the Consular General of the Chicago Thai and a group of RPCVs who served in Thailand. They will teach us about the history and culture of Thailand, share their experiences, show some photos, and share some important objects from their service. We will eat traditional Thai dishes family style in traditional Thai seating (on floor cushions but with your legs hanging into holes cut into the floor).
Please RSVP to doll (dot) christian (at) gmail (dot) com by March 24th to let me know if you would like to come to this event. Also let me know if you would prefer a vegetarian meal.
