We will be electing Board members at the CAPCA Annual meeting on October 6, 2011. The meeting/Dinner will be held at Chicago Curry House, 899 South Plymouth Court (in the south Loop), Chicago IL from 5:00 to 7:30pm. Cost of the dinner is $20 for members ($25 for non-members).

The Board is composed of not less than 10 or more than 15 members elected for 2 year terms who fill a variety of duties. We thank our departing Board members: Sonja Jacobs, Laura Lange, Mia Yankow, Christian Doll, Jered Ulschmid, Cristina Lalli, Brian DeFilippo, Bruce Canetti, Margaret Sheridan and Peter O’Keefe. Currently there are 3 members elected in 2010 still serving: Kathy Kacen, Rishi Desai, and Melissa Shoemaker. There are 12 possible positions to be filled (for a full 15 person board). Marcy Huttas and Pam Stutzman running for reelection having filled one year positions. Other candidates include current Presidential appointees: Kat O’Brien, Henry Penland, and Leslie Piotrowski. New candidates are: John Beasley, Howard Ellegant, Annie Leff, and Courtney Sharpe.
Board members commit to serving 2 years. The responsibilities are; to represent CAPCA, perform the duties required of the position, support and attend CAPCA events, and help with the Founder’s Day Gala and Bridges to Service .
Although Board members have areas of responsibility (fundraising, membership, community service, etc.), when we elect board members on the 6th, we are only electing them onto the board. The positions will then be decided at the first official board meeting with the new members. Write-in candidates are accepted at the Annual meeting on the 6th.
