Here’s how you can help our city this month.
Event: Weatherization for H.O.M.E.
Date: Saturday, November 23rd
Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Meeting Location: TBD (we've requested to volunteer at a home on the south side)
In Brief: Help H.O.M.E. prepare low-income senior homeowners for the harsh winter weather!
Founded in 1982, H.O.M.E. (Housing Opportunities & Maintenance for the Elderly) is a one-of-a-kind Chicago organization that fosters joy, independence, and connection for older adults with low incomes.
Assist elderly low-income homeowners with the installation of reusable plastic insulation. Preventing drafts of cold air, insulation will reduce heating expenses and increase comfort for homeowners. No special skills are required - training, tools and materials will be provided.
If you plan to attend, please mark "Attending" above and then contact Griffin Smith at griffinmariesmith@gmail.com or 708.560.6477 for more details. Griffin will follow up with meet-up details for the CAPCA crew!
